“On Monday, May 1st, the Clay Center Fire Department will begin the annual flushing and flow testing of fire hydrants in the city. The flushing process will begin in the North East corner of the city and continue for approximately 3 weeks. This necessary maintenance is to ensure that all fire hydrants in the city operate correctly.

If household water becomes discolored, letting the faucets run should clear the discoloration within a short time. If water pressure drops and does not return to normal by the end of the day, remove faucet aerators and check for sediment which may be plugging the screens.”
