Wichita, KS– Governor Laura Kelly today toured the Kansas Food Bank in Wichita to discuss her “Axe the Food Tax” plan, which would completely eliminate the state’s sales tax on groceries.

“Axing the food tax will directly help hard-working Kansans save money and get much-needed relief from the pandemic-induced inflation,” Governor Laura Kelly said. “I urge the Legislature to work together to send me a clean bill eliminating the state’s sales tax on food as quickly as possible.”

The Kansas Food Bank partners with hunger relief agencies across the state with a goal of providing hunger relief wherever it is needed within its 85-county service area. The organization supports Governor Kelly’s “Axe the Food Tax” plan.
