Marysville, Kan. — The Marysville Police Department has warned residents that they have recently seized marijuana that tested positive for Fentanyl.

Chief Matt Simpson with the Marysville Police Department says that recently have been testing every controlled substance for Fentanyl because of the amount of this drug that has been out there.  So, even without a complaint of it, for the safety of the officers and residents, he’s putting some minds at ease.

Chief Simpson said while officers said they often hear “it’s just weed,” he says that may not always be true.

The best thing you can do to protect yourself and your loved ones from fentanyl laced drugs is communication.

Chief Simpson wants to educate and help the public.

If you have a family member or know someone who is using any sort of substances, Chief Simpson encourages those to order the free Naloxone kit. You can do so here.
