Topeka, KS– Information about the 2023 Kansas Legislature is only a phone call or chat away, the State Library of Kansas reminds residents. The toll-free number for the Legislative Hotline is 1-800-432-3924. Calls are answered by experienced reference and research librarians at the State Library.
Frequently asked questions include:

- How can I contact them? and
- What is the status of this bill?
Other questions may concern the legislative process, where to find historic information, and other Kansas government related questions.
The Hotline is open Monday-Friday from 8 am to 5 pm, however constituents can leave a brief message for their legislators, or for a librarian’s response. Questions can also be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kansans can also chat with a librarian in real-time through the library’s Ask a Librarian service found at kslib.info/ask. From this page, residents use the web or download the mobile app to connect to the State Library’s reference services through chat, email, or phone. TTY users should call 711.
