Topeka, KS – Glenda Haverkamp, a 45-year employee of the Kansas Insurance Department, yesterday, received the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) Robert Dineen Award for Outstanding Service and Contribution to the State Regulation of Insurance.

“There is no one person in the state of Kansas who has made a larger impact on the regulation of insurance than Glenda,” said Kansas Insurance Commissioner Vicki Schmidt. “Her service has spanned six Commissioners and multiple divisions within the Department.”

The NAIC established the Robert Dineen Award in 1989 to honor staff members of state insurance departments who have made outstanding contributions to the state regulation of insurance and has performed activities fostering the advancement of the insurance regulatory profession. Commissioner Vicki Schmidt nominated Haverkamp for the award earlier this year and she was presented it during the 2022 Fall National Meeting.

Haverkamp joins the three other Kansans in the insurance regulatory industry who have received this award, Dick Brock (1989), Tom Foley (2000), and Larry Bruning (2008). She currently serves as the Senior Administrative Specialist for the Government and Public Affairs Division and plays a vital role in the Department’s public outreach efforts.
