Manhattan, KS— The 2022-2023 McCain Performance Series hosts its first music show of the spring season, presenting national touring blues artist Larry McCray at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 19, in Kansas State University’s McCain Auditorium.

Over the past three decades of nonstop touring and recording, McCray has played and shared the stage with blues and rock greats B.B. King, Buddy Guy, Albert King, John Mayall, Johnny Winter, Robert Cray, Keb Mo, Jonny Lang, Joe Walsh, Levon Helm, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Bobby “Blue” Bland, Albert Collins and Joe Bonamassa. A regular of the jam band genre, McCray has performed with many of the greats in that world, including touring with The Allman Brothers Band, Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule, Phil Lesh, Chris Robinson of the Black Crowes and many others.

 

McCray’s recent album, “Blues Without You,” was named No. 1 album of 2022 by Blues Rock Review.

Tickets are available online at mccain.k-state.edu or at the ticket office in the newly expanded McCain lobby from noon to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday. Tickets are also available by phone, 785-532-6428, during the same hours. Kids 17 and younger get 50% off the general price of admission.
